Kela Robinson

"I am extremely interested in psychology, as I believe many artists are. Having my own issues with depression seemingly puts a gray cloud over everything in life, but somehow I still manage to find beauty and peaceful moments in the things that surround me. These things are what I try to incorporate into my artwork. I attempt to understand, observe, and collect moments of life. My work is my attempt to reconcile the materiality of our flesh-and-blood bodies with the fleeting, ephemeral nature of our minds and our experiences. There is so much mystery inside each human, both in the way the mind works and the way our bodies do. I cannot define everything that I look to convey in my work, but this type of thinking is my jumping off point and where it goes from there is a never-ending mystery to myself."
